We want to start off by thanking each and every one of you who have supporting Crystaltimes over the last 12 years. Some of you have been with us for a decade, and some for 10 days. No matter how long you have been apart of the Crystaltimes story and its success, we thank you.

Over the course of a decade, we’ve expanded our range of parts from Sapphire Crystals to all parts needed to build your dream watch. We’ve taken countless ideas from the community and brought them to fruition; many of which are longstanding products that have been loved by modders for many years. The business is truly built on the support of a community we are proud to be apart of.

To date we have spent over $2 million dollars on product development, team members, technology and education to help build the community. You should be proud of this as we’ve reinvested a majority of revenues into expanding the ecosystem, in conjunction with, our own personal capital. We have a personal responsibility to continue to reinvest so that you guys can continue to enjoy the modding space long term, and so the Crystaltimes platform can continue to survive.

It has been an incredible honor serving every one of you with high quality parts that will last a lifetime and bring happiness to you every time you look down at your watch.

To secure the future success of Crystaltimes we are making some adjustments to our business highlighted below:

Configurator Discontinuation: Thank you to everyone who helped us test, roll out and spread the news about the Seiko Mod Configurator we created in 2021. We decided after careful consideration that it was best to discontinue the configurator. This was not an easy decision, but it is what’s best for the longevity of Crystaltimes in the modding space. We gave it our all and invested a great deal of resources into building and maintaining it. Over time we found that the cost of maintaining it was taking away from the very thing that you come to Crystaltimes for: high quality parts, superior customer service and a place that you can rely on long term for modding. The amount of time and money put into the configurator has been putting stress on those things, so we decided to discontinue the configurator so we can focus on deploying resources on the strength and longevity of the business.

App Discontinuation: Thank you to everyone who has downloaded and used the App to browse and place orders. We truly appreciate your support in using the App, but we are discontinuing updates and removing it from the app store(s). You simply need to remove it from your phone as we do not store anything on the app. We are putting our energy and focus into making our mobile site the best possible experience for you. The intention with the app was to improve the user experience on mobile devices, but through user feedback we’ve found that our mobile site is better and more sustainable. The amount of effort in order to keep the app running smoothly is another item that is taking away from producing and serving this community at the highest level.

Focus On Quality at Sustainable Prices: We have always and will continue to price our products at sustainably low prices without compromising the quality of our products. We are committed to offering you the best value. We also continue to give you shipping rates based on our bulk negotiated prices – prices may go up or down, and you’ll see that reflected at checkout. A few years ago we stopped charging sales tax on all orders, and account for that within our pricing structure.

Responsive Production: All Crystaltimes parts are crafted in small batches. By producing in small lots we are able to minimize waste and overhang and churn inventory more quickly. As a result, we don’t have to build the cost of “excess inventory” into our prices, allowing us to pass along sustainable prices to you.
Lean Business Model: Crystaltimes was originally bootstrapped with our own personal savings, which taught us how to be smart with our money. We keep fixed costs low and do almost everything within a few factories to improve the quality all around.
Long-Term Thinking: Reinvesting keeps us invested in the community and helps us ensure the longevity of the business. Just as aforementioned, we sometimes need to let go of things like the configurator or app in order to hone back in on what everyone loves about Crystaltimes: A commitment to quality at reasonable prices with top notch customer support.
